Although I am not really sure what a Ponycat is or does, I am definitely convinced that this is one of the best new(ish) cafes within Inner City Brisbane.

The menu is pretty simple - lunch and breakfast plus cakes. It is all laid out on the purposely painted blackboard wall along the counter and kitchen. All the other walls are dressed in some fantastic graffiti and art works, giving the small cafe a quirky feel. Whoever did those must be a fantastic artist.
Back to the food - Everything I have tasted here is great from the carrot cake to the chicken sandwich. My last trip saw me there for breakfast on a Tuesday morning which resulted in the ham and fried egg toastie, which came with bbq sauce and melted swiss cheese (pictured). This was a healthier/tastier alternative to the bacon & egg sarnie.

If you haven’t been to Ponycat I suggest you go as soon as possible. It is definitely a staple on my cafe list and one worth trying at least once!
